    Laura Borden is a marine biologist with over a decade of experience working in the Pacific Northwest and Arctic marine environments. Her background spans academic, non-profit, and consulting sectors, with a focus on marine vegetation ecology, subtidal habitat assessments, and biodiversity monitoring.
Laura has designed and implemented baseline and long-term monitoring programs across a range of Canadian coastal regions, including Cambridge Bay, Baffin Island, Hudson Bay, the Strait of Georgia, Howe Sound, and Burrard Inlet. Her technical expertise supports Dynamic Ocean Consulting’s field programs in environmental assessment, habitat mapping, and applied marine science.
As a regulatory and permitting specialist, Laura provides comprehensive support throughout all phases of the environmental approvals process. She is highly knowledgeable in federal, provincial, territorial, and municipal review frameworks in British Columbia and Nunavut, including the development of permit applications, construction environmental management plans (CEMPs), and supporting documentation.
Laura is also one of Dynamic Ocean’s lead divers, supporting commercial and scientific diving operations and instructing CAUS-accredited scientific diving courses.
She is a Registered Professional Biologist (R.P. Bio.) in good standing with the College of Applied Biology (CAB).
