At Dynamic Ocean Consulting Ltd., we deliver professional scientific and commercial diving surveys to support marine research, regulatory compliance, and infrastructure projects across British Columbia, Arctic regions, and inland waterways.

Our scientific dive team is among the most qualified and experienced in Canada, certified by both the Divers Certification Board of Canada (DCBC) and the Canadian Association of Underwater Sciences (CAUS).

We specialize in environmental assessments, habitat mapping, marine species relocation, and outplanting restoration. combining scientific rigor, operational safety, and technical precision across all underwater projects.

Certified Expertise in Diving Operations

Our team’s unique blend of commercial and scientific qualifications allows us to conduct projects that demand both technical precision and biological insight.

Environmental & Habitat Diving Surveys

Dynamic Ocean provides comprehensive underwater survey capability for a range of environmental and regulatory applications, including:

  • Subtidal habitat assessments for environmental impact studies and Fisheries Act Authorizations.

  • Marine vegetation mapping – eelgrass, understory kelp, canopy kelp, and other habitat features.

  • Species-specific surveys, including Northern abalone and Pacific herring methodology.

  • Pre-construction baseline and post-construction monitoring for offset plans.

  • Relocation of marine organisms to satisfy pre-construction environmental commitments.

  • Existing-conditions assessments for habitat inventories and restoration planning.

All survey work is supported by experienced marine biologists and technical divers using standardized scientific protocols and high-resolution documentation techniques (video transects, quadrat sampling, GPS-referenced mapping).

We regularly work with:

  • Engineering firms and port authorities requiring underwater inspections.

  • Environmental consultants conducting baseline or post-construction monitoring.

  • Government agencies and research organizations undertaking habitat and compliance surveys.

All diving operations are conducted in full compliance with CSA standards, WorkSafeBC and WSCC occupational regulations, and CAUS scientific diving guidelines, ensuring the highest levels of safety and professionalism.

ROV-Assisted & Topside Support

In addition to direct diver operations, Dynamic Ocean provides ROV-assisted surveys and topside technical support to extend dive range and data collection capacity in challenging or deepwater conditions.
We integrate real-time video, hydroacoustics, and environmental sensors to complement diver observations—delivering complete datasets for environmental or engineering analysis.

Dive Training & Capacity Building

Our instructor-qualified personnel provide diver training and safety instruction at both professional and academic levels:

  • CAUS Scientific Diver Training – for participants affiliated with member institutions.

  • Occupational and CAUS topside support trainingoxygen therapy, Dive Accident Management, and First Aid.

  • Private PADI recreational training – customized instruction for divers seeking personalized certification experiences.

Training programs are delivered by certified instructors with extensive field and academic credentials, ensuring participants gain both technical competence and environmental awareness.

Safety, Quality, and Environmental Integrity

Every dive operation follows a safety-first protocol and environmental best practices.
We maintain:

  • Strict adherence to the CSA and WorksafeBC safety standards.

  • Comprehensive pre-dive risk assessments.

  • Continuous monitoring of environmental and physical parameters.

  • Quality assurance through standardized data collection and documentation.

This approach ensures that every project delivers reliable, defensible data that meets regulatory and scientific requirements.

Geographic Reach

Operating from our base in Port Moody, British Columbia, Dynamic Ocean supports projects across:

  • The BC coastline and inland waterways

  • Northern and Arctic marine environments

  • Remote and offshore infrastructure sites

Our experience in cold-water and high-latitude conditions allows us to deliver consistent results under the most demanding marine environments.
