Gabrielle Smith M.sc, OLY
Gabrielle Smith is a Master’s-level environmental scientist and Olympic athlete with more than four years of laboratory and field experience in environmental research. She holds an M.Sc. in Environmental Science from the University of Oxford (with Merit), where her graduate research focused on water quality and pathogen pollution in England’s river systems.
Gabrielle’s professional experience includes underwater noise monitoring and hydroacoustic data collection, where she contributed to the design and application of bubble curtain systems to mitigate underwater noise impacts. Her combined analytical and field expertise enables her to approach marine environmental challenges from both a technical and applied perspective.
In 2024, Gabrielle earned her CAUS Scientific Diver I certification and continues to pursue opportunities in scientific diving and marine fieldwork with Dynamic Ocean Consulting.
Beyond her technical background, Gabrielle is passionate about science communication and environmental policy. She has collaborated with the United Nations Office of Outer Space Affairs (UNOOSA), contributing to international reporting on global water management and sustainability case studies.
